Loving the idea behind the combat patrol sysyem, but one part I either can not find or I gloss over accidently. I did not see any part in the combat patrol rule book or quick start on building your army list.

Hi James,

Thatís a great question.  Weíre still developing our approach to army lists,  and weíll probably open it up to discussion in the near future.

Regards,

Mike

Even simple To&E charts would work. There are many listed in the Albedo RPGs so I have been defaulting to those when considering purchases and it seems so did you folks when designing the minis range.

Yes, we thought of that too, the TOE charts are all included in the sourcebook.

There is a playtest version int he downloads section.  But we're still fiddling with firepower balancing and whatnot, so we won't be releasing the final charts until they are ready.

Of course, as a Kickstarter backer, you'll get first look at them.

I am okay with realistic imbalances. Not every military measures up.

And don't forget that with every TO&E there's always someone posted off to polish the Company commanders boots or the extra bit of kit that you were suppose to return to the stores but marked off as "destroyed in action".  ;)

I found them in Structural Integrity, the follow-up book to Platinum Catalyst on pg 287, following the battalion organization. It goes into platoon and then squad structure.

Fair warning, Iíve never seen Structural Integrity.  Donít expect it to be the same as our lists.

The Army list building will be part of the sourcebook, not the rules.  I think.  We have built up TOE charts for Phase I and II of the war already.  We have assigned points to the units.  The idea is that you can build up a unit from smaller units, not individuals.  For instance, a EDF team is 2 points, but an ILR team is 3 points.  So you would build up a force for a game by combing fire teams, weapon teams, and HQ.

Well I am making a post back here. I had a couple games with the full rule book. The question of list building came up again. I know the source book will go in detail on points, but perhaps a basic chart showing the different tires of armies and needed elements would be nice. Sort of like the 40k's Force org charts, Patrol is minimum a HQ and 1 Troop, Battalion in 2 Hq's and 3 Troops. No points but something to help people with determining game size, potential purchases, and later expansion of their collection.

HI James,

I think that's a good idea and we'll get that happening - at least for part of the timeline.

Cheers,
